When to Detoxify
It is recommended that you complete a one-month detoxification program with Ojibwa Blend every six months to maintain good health. However, if you are not in good health, are low in energy, or currently find you fit into one of the stages of disease listed below, it is important to remain on a cleansing and detoxification program until health has returned, energy levels have increased, and you no longer feel the physical symptoms associated with the stages of disease.

Toxins everywhere!
Our modern world is fraught with obstacles to good health. Exposure to toxic substances like; chemicals, pesticides, fumes, food preservatives and artificial ingredients, car exhaust, pharmaceutical drugs, and tobacco, cause them to build up in your system. Here these toxins may cause abnormalities in once healthy cells that can lead to chronic and degenerative conditions. About 75% of the Western diet comes from processed foods, with each of us averaging a yearly consumption of 8-10 lbs of food additives and preservatives. This year alone it is estimated that over 80,000 premature deaths will result from air pollution, which far exceeds toxic levels in large cities. Even if we are vigilant in trying to avoid toxins, we are still subjected to levels our bodies were never designed to be capable of handling properly.

Body response: Stages of disease
As toxins and free radical levels rise, they trigger a progressive health decline. Left unchecked, this can lead to serious problems, evidenced in the progressive stages of disease.
■ Lethargy
Food is fuel for your body. Your metabolism and energy levels are directly impacted by your body’s ability to break down and absorb the nutrients in your food. Substances that are not broken down, poorly absorbed or low in nutrition leave you feeling sluggish and lethargic. Food that is not properly digested rots in your digestive tract, turning into toxins that pass from your blood into your tissues. This rotten undigested food becomes encrusted on intestinal walls, further obstructing absorption of nutrients and depleting you of energy.
■ Toxic Accumulation
Poor digestion, constipation, infrequent, irregular, or painful bowel movements are signs that your body is not collecting and disposing of waste properly, causing toxins to accumulate. Bowel movements once a day or less is cause for immediate concern. Accumulated toxins from unexpelled feces can cause cellular damage throughout your body.
■ Irritation
Rising levels of toxins in your body cause irritation both internally and externally. Warning signs include pain, itchy or irritated skin, rashes, nausea, insomnia or mood swings. All are signals that the body’s elimination system is hampered allowing toxins and waste to accumulate.
■ Inflammation
Inflammation occurs from prolonged irritation by continual toxin buildup in a particular area. This stage is a precursor to serious tissue damage.
■ Ulceration
Ulcers appear in localized areas of the body where high levels of stored toxins attack and destroy surrounding cells and tissues. This destruction exposes nerves to irritation, thus increased pain is felt at this stage of disease.
■ Tumors
To keep toxins from spreading outside of the ulcerated areas, the body fills the ulcers with scar tissue. The toxic material is now encased in a sack of hardened tissue referred to as a tumor. This is the last stage where the body still has some level of control on its cells. If nothing is done at this point, cells can begin to mutate, causing irreparable damage.

Cleanse & Detoxify
Health is based on nutrition, exercise, rest and our ability to remove toxins. Detoxification (collecting and removing toxic waste from your body) is vital. Our organs ‘push’ unwanted toxins into the bloodstream where they are filtered out by our liver, and eventually eliminated.
